The first thing you need to drill into your wall is a screwdriver. Most materials will allow you to use an ordinary screwdriver. If your wall is made out of concrete, however, you'll need to use a rotary hammer drill. These types of drills are rarely cordless.
Drill bits
You'll also have to use an appropriate drill bit for the material that you intend to drill through. Most drill bits are adapted to drill through most materials. However, if you need to drill something abnormally hard, such as concrete or metal, you'll need bits adapted to these materials. Another thing you should consider is to keep a manual screwdriver close by as you're drilling into your wall. They are slow and quite challenging to use on large drilling projects, but can be invaluable tools when you need to straighten a crooked screw. It's easier to do that with a manual screwdriver, as they give you more control over your motions than an electric screwdriver.
